Chef San Shoppell: A Culinary Journey Rooted in Passion and Community

Chef San Shoppell brings together her love of food, art, and travel in a vibrant culinary journey that spans continents and communities.

 

As the chef-owner of Destination Chef, she crafts unique dishes inspired by her extensive travels through the USA, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

 

Her diverse experience includes top-tier hotels, private clubs, and over 15 years of in-home private dining services, emphasizing fresh, local ingredients and sustainable practices.

 

San’s academic excellence shines—she graduated with honors from Kapiʻolani Community College’s Culinary Institute of the Pacific and completed a prestigious internship at Blue Hill at Stone Barns under acclaimed chef Dan Barber.

 

Rooted in Hawaiʻi, San gives back through teaching and community outreach, volunteering with high school students and local farmers markets.

 

Her dedication was recently celebrated at Leeward Community College’s The Pearl restaurant showcase, contributing to Hawaiʻi’s dynamic culinary scene and nurturing future chefs.
